Super healthy, cabbage goes a long way back. In ancient times, the Greeks treated it as a special food for its many medicinal properties. There are tales about raw cabbage juice being a standard treatment for a nasty hangover! Salads, dals, sabzis, pickles and even raitas, cabbage does full justice to each preparation. Ingredients for Warm Red Cabbage Salad Recipe

  • Red cabbage shredded 1 medium

  • Raisins 10-12

  • Onion thinly sliced 1 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Garlic crushed 4-5 cloves

  • Apple thinly sliced 1 large

  • Sugar 1/2 tablespoon

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed 6-7

Method

Step 1

Heat butter in a pan, add onion and sauté for a minute. Add red cabbage and salt. Mix well.

Step 2

Add garlic, mix and add sliced apples. Sauté for a minute. Sprinkle sugar and raisins.

Step 3

When apples soften, add lemon juice. Add freshly crushed black peppercorns and mix. Serve hot and crunchy
