Aloo Bharta Indian version of the popular continental mashed potatoes – very flavorful and tasty. Bharta is normally made with brinjal. This recipe replaces brinjal with all time favourite potatoes. By Sanjeev Kapoor 19 Jul 2020 in Recipes Veg New Update Aloo Bharta Main Ingredients Potatoes, Oil Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 3 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled 1 1/2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/2 tablespoon chopped garlic 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped ginger 1-2 green chillies, chopped 3-4 Spring onions with greens, chopped 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 1/2 teaspoons kitchen king masala 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves Salt to taste 1/2 teaspoon dried mango powder Chopped spring onion greens for garnish Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and allow them to change colour. Add garlic, ginger, green chillies and spring onions, mix well and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and Kitchen King Masala, mix well and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Grate the potatoes and add to the pan. Add ½ cup water and mix well. Cook for 1 minute. Add coriander leaves, salt and dried mango powder, mix well and cook for 1 minute. Take it off the heat.
