Apple Doughnut Delight Batter fried apple doughnuts dipped in sugar syrup and served garnished with nuts. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 17 Dec 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Apple, Yogurt Cuisine Fusion Course Desserts Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Apple Doughnut Delight 3 medium Apple 1 tablespoon Yogurt to deep fry Oil 1 cup Refined flour (maida) 2 tablespoons Rice flour 1/2 teaspoon Fruit salt 1/4 cup Yogurt 500 grams Sugar 3 1/2 tablespoon Milk for dredging Cocoa powder for dredging Icing sugar 12 Pistachios sliced 12 Almonds sliced Method Mix all the batter ingredients in a bowl and whisk thoroughly. The batter should be of pouring consistency and not lumpy. Cover and keep aside for five minutes. Take three cups of water and sugar in a deep pan. Mix thoroughly. Heat, stirring continuously, till sugar dissolves completely. Add milk. Remove the scum that rises to the top to get a crystal clear syrup. Keep syrup warm. Wash and core apples and slice them with the skin, into roundels of approximately one-fourth centimetre thickness. Keep in water to which lemon juice is added to avoid the apple slices from turning black. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the apple slices in the batter and deep-fry on low heat till golden brown. Drain and soak in sugar syrup. (The sugar syrup should be warm and not hot). Remove from the syrup and arrange on a plate. Dredge with cocoa powder and icing sugar and sprinkle with sliced pistachios and almonds. Serve hot.
