By Sanjeev Kapoor 23 Oct 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Badam Payasam Main Ingredients Almonds, Rice Cuisine Kerala Course Desserts Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 1 cup Almonds blanched and peeled 3 tablespoons Rice soaked 1 litre Full cream milk 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder 6-8 sprigs Saffron (kesar) 1/2 cup Sugar 2 tablespoons Almonds slivers for garnishing Method Heat milk in a deep non stick pan. Grind rice and almonds coarsely and add to the milk. Cook on medium heat, stirring often. Add green cardamom powder and mix well. Add saffron and mix. Cook till rice is completely cooked and the mixture thickened. Add sugar and stir till it dissolves. Serve hot garnished with almond slivers.
