Ingredients list for Cheesy Pakoda Sandwich

  • 100 grams Processed cheese block
  • 8 Bread slices
  • 1 cup Gram flour
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 4 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 cup Cabbage shredded
  • as required Onion chopped
  • as required Tomato chopped
  • as required Green capsicum chopped
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Take gram flour in a bowl, add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and salt and mix well. Add 2 cups of water and whisk well to make a smooth batter.
  2. For making one sandwich, heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, dip 2 bread slices in the gram flour batter and place it in the pan and shallow fry, turning sides, till golden brown on both sides.
  3. Sprinkle some cabbage, onion, tomato, green capsicum, grate 25 grams cheese on top of 1 bread slice. Cover it with another bread slice and press it. Cook for 30 seconds on each side. Make the remaining sandwiches similarly.
  4. Cut each sandwich into half and arrange on serving plates and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
