Ingredients for Chilli Idli-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Idlis quartered 10-15

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2-3

  • Cornflour 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 1/2 tables to deep fry

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger chopped 1/2 tablespoon

  • Small onion quartered and layers separated 1

  • Small red capsicum cut into squares 1

  • Small yellow capsicum cut into squares 1

  • Soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Vegetable stock 3/4 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Cornflour slurry 1 sprigs

  • Spring onion greens diagonally sliced for garnish


Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in kadai.

Step 2

Take idli pieces in a bowl, add cornflour and mix well. Deep-fry the idli pieces till lightly brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic, ginger and green chillies and sauté till fragrant.

Step 4

Add onions, red and yellow capsicums, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Add soy sauce and chilli sauce and mix well. Add stock, mix and bring to a boil.

Step 6

Add salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well. Add cornflour slurry and mix well. Add fried idli pieces, mix well and cook for a minute.

Step 7

Garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
