Ingredients list for Dahi Bhaat

  • 1 1/2 cups Yogurt
  • 3 cups Rice
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 9-10 Curry leaves
  • 2 Dried red chillies seeded
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Carrot grated
  • 1 tablespoon Cucumber grated
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Place yogurt in a bowl and whisk well. Add rice and mash while mixing. Add milk and mix well. Keep the mixture aside for 4 hours.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried red chilies, ginger, and sauté till fragrant.
  3. Pour it over the rice mixture. Add carrot, cucumber and salt and mix well. Serve cold.
