Goan Mussel Pulao Goan cuisine is known for its flavourful food and this is one of them – rice and mussels cooked with masalas. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 08 Mar 2019 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Mussels (tisre), Rice Cuisine Goan Course Rice Prep Time 51-60 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Goan Mussel Pulao 1/2 cup Mussels (tisre) shelled 1 1/2 cups Rice soaked for an hour 2 tablespoons Oil 1/2 inch Cinnamon 3-4 Cloves 4-5 Black peppercorns 1 medium Onion chopped 1 tablespoon Garlic-ginger-green chilli paste 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Sunday masala 1 medium Tomato chopped to taste Salt 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cinnamon, cloves and peppercorns and sauté for a minute. Add onion, mix and sauté for a minute. Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, mix and cook for a 30 seconds. Add rice, mix and cook for a minute. Add mussels, mix and sauté for a minute. Reduce heat, add turmeric powder, chilli powder and Sunday masala and mix well. Add tomato and mix well. Add salt, mix and cook on high heat for 30 seconds. Add 3 cups hot water, mix, cover and cook for 8-10 minutes. Add chopped coriander and mix well. Serve hot garnished with a mint sprig and lemon slice.
