Ingredients for Green Gram Sundal Recipe

  • Whole Green Gram soaked 1/2 cup

  • Fresh Coconut 2-3 tablespoons

  • Dried red chilli 1

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2

  • Curry leaves 8-10

  • Asafoetida a pinch

  • Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Mustard seeds 3/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Drain and pressure cook moong with 1 cup water and salt for 1-2 whistles. Heat oil in a non stick pan.

Step 2

Chop red chilli and remove seeds. Chop green chillies and curry leaves.

Step 3

Add asafoetida, urad dal and mustard seedsto the pan and saute till dal turns a light brown. Add red chilli and curry leaves.

Step 4

Drain moong and add to the pan. Add green chillies and mix well.

Step 5

Add salt and coconut and mix. Cook till dry. Serve hot.
