Ingredients list for Green Gram Sundal

  • 1/2 cup Whole Green Gram soaked
  • 2-3 tablespoons Fresh Coconut
  • 1 Dried red chilli
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • 3/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil

Method

  1. Drain and pressure cook moong with 1 cup water and salt for 1-2 whistles. Heat oil in a non stick pan.
  2. Chop red chilli and remove seeds.
    Chop green chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Add asafoetida, urad dal and mustard seedsto the pan and saute till dal turns a light brown.
    Add red chilli and curry leaves.
  4. Drain moong and add to the pan.
    Add green chillies and mix well.
  5. Add salt and coconut and mix.
    Cook till dry.
    Serve hot.
