By Sanjeev Kapoor 07 Dec 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Green Chana, Cottage Cheese Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time Preparation Time Cook time Cooking Time Serve Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Hare Chane Aur Paneer Ki Sabzi 200 grams Green Chana shelled 150 grams Cottage Cheese 1 inch piece Ginger 8 cloves Garlic 2 1/2 tablespoons Oil 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 4 medium Onions,grated 3 large Tomatoes, grated to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 3/4 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder 1 teaspoons Coriander powder 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder Method Clean, wash and drain green chana. Cut paneer into small pieces. Grind ginger and garlic into a paste Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour, add grated onions and sauté till light brown. Add two tablespoons of water to the ginger and garlic pastes and mix. Once the onion turns brown add this mixture and stir. Add grated tomatoes and sauté for ten to fifteen minutes or till oil surfaces. Add hare chane and one cup of water and bring it to a boil. Add salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and stir. Cover and let it cook on medium heat for ten to twelve minutes. Add coriander powder and mix. Add chopped coriander leaves, paneer pieces, garam masala powder and simmer for two minutes. Serve hot.
