Favourite seafood? Prawns, prawns and more of prawns. A wide variety of small crustaceans, tiny relatives of the lobster, are known as prawns. Prawns are normally translucent when raw but get their distinctive pink or red colour on being cooked. one word of caution – if buying unpeeled prawns, smell for freshness and look for bright, shiny shells that have some spring left in them.

Ingredients for Honey Garlic Prawns Recipe

  • Prawns (medium) shelled and deveined 16-20

  • Honey 1½ tablespoons

  • Garlic cloves finely chopped 6-8

  • Sesame oil (til oil) 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh red chilli finely chopped 1

  • Light soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Spring onion greens chopped for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add red chilli and sauté for 30 seconds.

Step 2

Add prawns, mix and cook on high heat for 3-4 minutes. Add soy sauce, salt and honey and mix and cook for 2-3 minutes or till prawns are done.

Step 3

Add spring onion greens and toss well.

Step 4

Serve hot garnished with spring onion greens.
