This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 11 Nov 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Barley soaked, Milk Cuisine Indian Course Desserts Prep Time 21-25 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Jau ki Kheer 1 cup Barley soaked 4 cup Milk 1 teaspoon Ghee 3 tablespoons Almonds 1/2 cup Khoya/mawa grated 5 tablespoons Sugar a pinch Green cardamom powder 2 tablespoons Rooh Afza Method Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add 3 tbsps almond slivers and sauté for a minute. Add barley and milk, mix and let it come to a boil. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring at intervals, till the barley is completely cooked. Add khoya, sugar and cardamom powder and mix till sugar dissolves. Cook till the kheer comes to a boil. Switch off the heat, add rooh afza and mix well. Cool and transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with almond slivers and serve chilled.
