Khichda Mutton cooked with broken wheat, lentils and masalas to make a wholesome dish This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 20 Jul 2018 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Boneless mutton, Broken wheat (dalia) Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Mutton Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 41-50 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Khichda 250 grams Boneless mutton cut into small cubes 1 1/2 cups Broken wheat (dalia) soaked 3 tablespoons Ghee 1 (20 gram Tata Sampann Meat Masala sachet 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste 2 teaspoons Green chilli paste 2 tablespoons Split Bengal gram (chana dal) soaked and drained 2 tablespoons Split skinless green gram (dhuli moong dal) soaked and drained 1 tablespoon Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) soaked and drained to taste Salt 1 cup Yogurt beaten 15-20 Fresh mint leaves 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder 4 cups Mutton stock 3/4 cup + for garnish Fried onions 1/2 cup Milk 3 teaspoon for drizzling Rogan for garnish Fresh mint sprig Method Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add mutton cubes and sauté on high heat for 3-4 minutes. Add Tata Sampann Meat Masala and mix well. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilli paste, Bengal gram, green gram, black gram, broken wheat and mix well. Add salt, yogurt, mint leaves and mix well. Add turmeric powder and mix well. Add garam masala powder and mix well. Add mutton stock and mix well. Add fried onions and mix well. Adjust seasoning. Cover and pressure cook till the pressure is released for 7-8 times. Open the lid once the pressure is completely reduced and mash the mixture. Place back on heat, add milk, remaining fried onions, rogan and mix well.
