By Sanjeev Kapoor 23 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Broken wheat (lapsi), Ghee Cuisine Indian Course Mithais Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Lapsi 1 1/2 cups Broken wheat (lapsi) 1/2 cup Ghee 2-3 Green cardamoms 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds 1 cup Sugar 1/4 cup Cashewnuts roughly chopped 1/4 cup + to garnish Almond slivers 1/4 cup Raisins Method Heat ghee in a non-stick kadai, add green cardamoms and fennel seeds, mix and sauté till fennel seeds turn brown. Add broken wheat, mix well and saute on medium heat, stirring continuously, for 8-10 minutes or till it turns golden brown in colour. Meanwhile heat 3 cups water in a deep non-stick pan. Add hot water to the sauteed daliya, mix well, cover and cook, on medium heat, stirring occasionally for 10-15 minutes. Add sugar, cashewnuts, almonds and raisins, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes or till the sugar melts.
