Ingredients 

  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon for shallow frying Oil
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • ¼ cup grated carrot
  • 3-4 French beans chopped
  • 1 tablespoon green peas, boiled and mashed
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon semolina
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, add green chilli and onion, mix and sauté till onion turns translucent.
  2. Add carrot, French beans, green peas and salt, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Take rice in a bowl, add the vegetable mixture, semolina, salt, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into medium-sized tikkis.
  4. Heat a little oil in a non-stick tawa, place the tikkis on it and shallow-fry, turning sides, on medium heat till golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
