Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Malai Paneer Samosa - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Cottage cheese (malai paneer) grated 1 cup

  • Samosa pattis 8-12

  • Oil 1 tablespo for deep-frying

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic finely chopped 2 teaspoons

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1/2 teaspoon

  • Medium onion finely chopped 1

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Green peas boiled 1/2 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Refined flour slurry to seal

Method

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let the seeds change colour.

Step 2

Add garlic, ginger and green chillies, mix and sauté for a minute. Add onion, mix and sauté till translucent.

Step 3

Add turmeric powder and mix. Add green peas and mix. Add cottage cheese, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add salt and garam masala powder, mix well and cook for a minute. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Step 5

Fold samosa pattis into cones, stuff with cottage cheese mixture and shape into samosas, sealing the edges with slurry.

Step 6

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, slide in the samosas and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 7

Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with a bowl of tomato ketchup.
