Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Cook time : 21-25 minutes

Ingredients for Mongolian Chicken - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into thin strips 400 grams

  • Oil 2 tablespo to deep fry

  • Cornflour 1/4 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • White pepper powder to taste

  • Spring onion bulbs chopped 2-3

  • Ginger paste 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic cloves sliced 5-6

  • Light soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Brown sugar 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh red chillies slit 3-4

  • Spring onion greens Sliced 1 stalk + to garnish

Method

Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 2

Mix together cornflour, salt and pepper powder in a bowl. Add chicken strips and mix well.

Step 3

Slide the chicken pieces into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 4

Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non-stick deep-pan, add spring onion bulbs and sauté for a minute.

Step 5

Add ginger paste and garlic slices, mix and sauté till fragrant.

Step 6

Add soy sauce and brown sugar, mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Add red chillies, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add fried chicken strips, salt, pepper powder and spring onion greens. Mix well, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
