By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Tata Sampann Moong Dal Chilka, Spinach Cuisine Gujarati Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 3.30-4 hour Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 1¾ cups moong dal chilka ½ medium bunch spinach, blanched 2 tablespoons oats flour ¼ cup boiled sweet corn ¼ cup boiled green peas 12-15 spinach leaves, shredded Salt to taste ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder ½ teaspoon coriander-cumin powder ½ teaspoon garam masala powder 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 teaspoons sugar 2-3 green chillies, crushed 2 teaspoons fruit salt 4 teaspoons oil 2 teaspoons mustard seeds 4 teaspoons white sesame seeds Tomato ketchup to serve Method Take moong dal chilka in a bowl and add sufficient water. Soak for 2-3 hours. In a blender jar, drain and add the soaked moong dal, spinach and oats flour. Add a little water and blend to a coarse mixture. Transfer the mixture into a large bowl. In the same bowl, add sweet corn, green peas, spinach leaves, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander-cumin powder, garam masala powder, lemon juice, sugar and green chillies. Mix well. Add a little water and mix till well combined. Set aside. Heat a non-stick shallow pan, meanwhile, add fruit salt into the prepared mixture and mix well. For one portion, heat 1 teaspoon oil into the hot pan, add ½ teaspoon mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add 1 teaspoon sesame seeds and lightly toast them, Pour a ladle of the prepared batter and spread it lightly. Cover and cook on low heat till the base becomes crispy. Flip the handvo, cover and cook till the other side becomes crispy.
