Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Murgh Sabz Khichdi Recipe

  • Chicken 1/2 inch pieces 1/4 cup

  • Rice

  • Rice soaked 1/2 cup

  • Cauliflower 6-8 florets

  • Green peas shelled 2 tablespoons

  • Ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Cloves 4-5

  • Black peppercorns 5-6

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2-3

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 inch piece

  • Garlic finely chopped 6-8 cloves

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Heat ghee in a pan. Add cloves, black peppercorns, cumin seeds and sauté. Add onion, green chillies, ginger and garlic and sauté. Add cauliflower and chicken and mix.

Step 2

Add rice and dal, turmeric powder and salt and stir well. Add four cups of water and bring to a boil. Add green peas and stir. Cover and cook till done. Serve hot.
