Ingredients for Oats Payezz Recipe

  • Oats 1 cup

  • Green Gram soaked 1/2 cup

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Cloves 6

  • Cinnamon 2 inch stick

  • Bay leaf 1

  • Onion thinly sliced 1 medium

  • Ginger-garlic paste 3 tablespoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Tomato chopped 1 medium

  • Green chilli chopped 4

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf and saute for a minute.

Step 2

Add onions and saute till translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

Step 3

Add turmeric powder, tomatoes, green chillies and saute till the tomatoes get cooked.

Step 4

Add the dal, oats,salt. Mint leaves and coriander leaves with three cups of water and pressure cook it for three whistles.

Step 5

Remove the cooker from heat and allow the pressure to release.

Step 6

Serve hot garnished with mint leaves.
