Halve the onions and separate the layers. Make pairs of two similar sized onion layers and keep aside eight such pairs. Chop the remaining onions. Mix together chopped onion, mutton mince, salt, garlic, crushed peppercorns, thyme, turmeric powder, cumin powder and cinnamon powder in a bowl. Divide the mixture into eight portions and stuff each portion into each pair of onion layers. Wrap these with bacon strips and secure with toothpick. Place the wrapped parcels on a baking tray, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for fifteen to twenty minutes. Serve hot with barbeque sauce.
