Ingredients list for Pepper Rawas Tikka

  • 500 grams Indian salmon (rawas) fillets
  • 1 1/2 teas as required Black pepper powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons + to drizzle Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Roasted gram flour
  • 1/4 cup + tablespoon Hung yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespo for brushing and sprayiong Olive oil
  • 3 Spring onion bulbs

Method

  1. Cut the fish into 2 inch cubes and put in a bowl. Add salt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, carom seeds and gram flour and mix well. Add ¼ cup hung yogurt and mix well.
  2. Add garam masala powder, black pepper powder and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 2 hours.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil and mix well.
  4. Heat a Gas Oven Tandoor (GOT) and brush with some olive oil.
  5. Spread black pepper powder on a plate. Coat the marinated fish in it, place in the Gas Oven Tandoor (GOT), cover and cook. Once it is half done, uncover, spray some olive oil, cover and cook till fully done. Switch off heat and let the fish remain in the Gas Oven Tandoor (GOT) for a few minutes.
  6. To make salad, diagonally slice spring onion bulbs and put into a bowl. Add salt, 1 tablespoon hung yogurt and mix well. Set aside.
  7. Prepare a bed of salad on a serving platter, put the fish tikka on it, drizzle lemon juice on top and serve hot.
