Ingredients list for Pizza Pakora

  • 8 Mini pizza bases
  • 1 cup Gram flour
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Green capsicum , finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet corn kernels , boiled
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato , finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2-3 Fresh basil leaves , hand torn
  • as required Pizza sauce
  • as required Processed cheese , grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to deep fry Oil
  • to serve Green chutney
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Heat butter in a non-stick pan, add green capsicum, sweet corn kernels and tomatoes and mix well. Add red chilli flakes, oregano, salt, ½ teaspoon red chilli powder and basil leaves, mix well and cook for a minute. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. Apply pizza sauce on 4 pizza bases, spread some topping in the centre, top with cheese and cover each with remaining pizza bases.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  4. To make the batter, take gram flour in a bowl, add turmeric powder, remaining red chilli powder, salt and sufficient water and whisk to make a smooth and semi thick batter. Add 1 tablespoon hot oil and mix well.
  5. Dip each pizza pakora in batter, slide into hot oil and deep-fry till golden-brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  6. Arrange the pakoras on a serving platter and serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
