Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Punjabi Chicken Recipe

  • Boneless chicken breasts cut into 1 inch cubes 450 grams

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger finely chopped 1/2 tablespoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 1-2

  • Large onion finely chopped 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Large tomato finely chopped 1

  • Punjabi garam masala 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander sprigs to garnish


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and ginger, mix well and sauté till raw smells disappear.

Step 2

Add green chillies and onion, mix well and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3

Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder, mix well and saute for 1 minute. Add tomato, mix well and saute till the tomato turn soft and pulpy.

Step 4

Add chicken, mix and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add 1 cup water, mix, cover and cook for 10-12 minutes.

Step 5

Add Punjabi garam masala powder and coriander leaves, mix well and cook for 1 minute.

Step 6

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprigs and serve hot.
