Ingredients list for Semolina Halvash

  • 1 cup Semolina
  • Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Pine nuts(chilgoza)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lemon rind grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon Orange rind grated
  • 2 tablespoons Raisins
  • 4-5 Almonds chopped
  • 6-7 Pistachios chopped

Method

  1. Heat butter in a pan. Add pine nuts and sauté till light brown. Add semolina and continue to sauté till lightly coloured.
  2. Add two cups of water and cook stirring continuously till the mixture thickens. Add milk and continue to cook till the milk gets absorbed. Add sugar and cook till the sugar melts and gets absorbed.
  3. Add lemon rind and orange rind and mix. Add raisins, almonds, pistachios and mix.
  4. Continue to cook till the halwa thickens.
  5. Serve hot.
