Ingredients for Seyal Pav - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Pavs 8

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumi seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Ginger chopped 1/2 inch

  • Garlic cloves chopped 4-5

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Onion chopped 1 large

  • Tomato chopped 1 medium

  • Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) chopped 1/2 cup

  • Fresh coriander leaves 2-3 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander sprigs for garnish

  • Tea to serve

Method

Step 1

Break pavs into small pieces and put them in a large bowl.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté till their colour changes. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies, mix and sauté till fragrant.

Step 3

Add onion, mix and sauté till golden brown. Add tomato, fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves and mix well. Add salt, mix well, cover and cook till the tomato becomes pulpy. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder, and mix well.

Step 4

Add 1 cup water and mix well. Add pav pieces and mix well. Add ½ cup water, mix well, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes. Take the pan off the heat.

Step 5

Transfer into a serving plate, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot with a cup of hot tea.
