Ingredients list for Shish Taouk With Rice

  • 400 grams Boneless chicken cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone
  • 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 3 stocks Chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons Hung curd
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato puree
  • 1 medium Green capsicum diced
  • 1 medium Red capsicum diced
  • 1 medium Yellow capsicum diced

Method

  1. Heat 2 tbsps oil in a rice cooker. Add rice, salt and chicken stock. Stir, cover and cook till done.

  3. Take yogurt in bowl. Add garlic, salt, cayenne pepper and chicken pieces. Mix well.
  4. Add lemon juice and 1 tbsp oil. Mix well. Add tomato puree and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 4 hours.
  5. Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers along with green, red and yellow capsicums alternately.
  6. Heat oil in non stick pan. Place skewers on it, cover and cook, rotating the skewers till chicken is done evenly all around.
  7. Spread cooked rice on serving dish and place skewers on it. Serve immediately.
