Southern Style Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients list for Southern Style Chicken Drumsticks

  • 8 Chicken drumsticks
  • ½ cup Tomato ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar/jaggery
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • for greasing Oil
  • Sauce
  • 2-3 tablespoons Tomato ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar/jaggery
  • ½ teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1-2 Birds eye chillies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh parsley chopped

Method

  1. Take chicken drumsticks in a bowl. Add tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, brown sugar, garlic and onion and mix well. Add salt and mix. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to180° C. Grease a baking tray with some oil.
  3. Place the marinated chicken on it and apply the leftover marinade on the pieces. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. To make the sauce, take tomato ketchup, cider vinegar, brown sugar, chilli flakes, bird’s eye chillies and parsley in a bowl and mix well.
  5. Drizzle the sauce on the baked chicken drumsticks, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
