Spaghetti with Chicken Sausages

Spaghetti pieces pierced into chicken sausages, boiled in water and then cooked in tomato sauce. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Spaghetti with Chicken Sausages

  • 5-7 Spaghetti
  • 6-8 Chicken sausages
  • 2 teaspoons Oil
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1 cup Tomato concasse
  • to taste Salt
  • 5-6 + for garnishing Basil leaves roughly chopped
  • a pinch Sugar
  • to sprinkle Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon +

Method

  1. Break spaghetti strands into half. Insert 2 broken strands piercing through the sausages.
  2. Heat sufficient water in a deep non-stick pan and bring it to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon oil and spaghetti-sausages. Cook for 5-10 minutes. Switch off the heat. Reserve the liquid.
  3. Heat remaining oil in another non-stick pan, add onions and garlic and sauté for a minute. Add chilli flakes, tomato concasse, salt and basil. Cook for 5-10 minutes. Add sugar, pepper powder and 2-3 teaspoons of reserved liquid.
  4. Add the spaghetti-sausages to the pan and toss well.
  5. Sprinkle pepper powder and serve hot garnished with basil leaf.
