Subz Khichda (Veg Haleem)

Ingredients 

  • 1 soya nuggets, soaked and ground
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons soaked broken wheat 
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1/2 cup soaked barley
  • 1/2 cup soaked washed moong
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons almond powder
  • A pinch of clove powder
  • 2 teaspoons Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
  • Juice of 1 lemon 

For Garnish 

  • 2 tablespoons fried onions
  • 1 coriander sprig

Method

  1. Finely chop onions.
    Heat oil and ghee on a pan.
  2. Add chopped garlic, chopped onions, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, cinnamon powder and mix well.
  3. Now add soaked and ground soya nuggets, soaked broken wheat and soaked barley. Cover the pan and let it cook.
  4. Once cooked remove lid of the pan. Now add curd, almond powder, clove powder, kashmiri mirch powder, finely chopped mint, finely chopped coriander, lemon juice and mix well.
  5. Remove Veg Haleem in a bowl.
  6. Garnish with fried onions and coriander.
