By Sanjeev Kapoor 23 Oct 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Dried white peas, Oil Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 7-8 hour Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 1 cup dried white peas, soaked overnight and pressure cookerd 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 12-16 curry leaves 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped 1½ teaspoons ginger chopped 2 medium onions, finely chopped 1 medium tomato, finely chopped Salt to taste ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder 1½ teaspoons goda masala ½ cup fresh coconut scraped 1 teaspoon jaggery grated 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves finely chopped + for garnish Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, garlic and ginger, mix and sauté till fragrant. Add onions and tomatoes, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add salt, turmeric powder and goda masala, mix well and cook till the oil separates. Add white peas and mix well. Add ¾ cup water and mix well. Add coconut, mix and bring to a boil. Add jaggery and coriander leaves, mix well and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
