Wasabi Shrimp on Pita Wasabi mixed avocado and flavourful shrimps topped on pita roundels – a great starter This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 23 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Medium shrimps, Wasabi paste Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 31-40 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Wasabi Shrimp on Pita 20-25 Medium shrimps shelled and deveined 1 tablespoon Wasabi paste as required Mini round pita breads grilled till golden 1 tablespoon Oil 2-3 Spring onion bulbs chopped 4-5 cloves Garlic chopped 1 inch Ginger finely chopped 4-5 + to sprinkle Fresh red chillies diagonally sliced 1 tablespoon Soy sauce 2 teaspoons Fish sauce 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce to taste Salt to taste Black peppercorns cruhsed 4 teaspoons Cornflour slurry 1 tablespo to sprinkle White sesame seeds 2 tablespoons Spring onion greens 1 Medium avocado 1 Lemon to garnish Spring onion greens cut into strips Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add spring onion bulbs, garlic, ginger and red chillies, mix and sauté for a minute. Add shrimps, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add soya sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, salt and crushed black peppercorns, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add cornflour slurry, mix well and cook on high heat for 2-3 minutes or till the mixture thickens. Sprinkle sesame seeds and spring onions greens, mix and sauté for a minute and take the pan off the heat. Halve the avocado, remove the seed and scoop out the flesh avocado into a bowl. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into the bowl and mash the mixture well with a fork. Add wasabi paste and mix well. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag. Place pita breads on a serving platter, pipe out the avocado mixture over each of them and top with a portion of the shrimp mixture.
