Bajre Ka Halwa

Pearl millet or bajra is a highly nutritious grain which is generally consumed during the winters. Grown easily in arid regions too, it helps in weight management and blood sugar regulation. Here is a recipe of halwa that is very tasty and can be made with ease.

Ingredients 

Method 

  1. Heat ¼ cup ghee in a steel pan, add pearl millet flour, and sauté for 8-10 minutes or till fragrant.
  2. Add 4 cups water and mix till well combined. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, slivered almonds and slivered pistachios and green cardamom powder and mix well. 
  4. Add remaining ghee and mix well. Cook on medium heat for 2 minutes.
  5. Transfer in a serving bowl. Sprinkle almonds and pistachios on top and serve warm.
