Meethi Tamatar Ki Chutney This is a sweet chutney with a hint of spiciness that the dried red chillies give it. It is quite healthy too because jaggery lends its sweetness. Goes well with rotis or paranthas. All the ingredients are simple and easily available in any home. By Sanjeev Kapoor 15 Oct 2024 in Recipes Pickle Jams Chutneys New Update Main ingredients Tomatoes, Cumin seeds, Bay leaves, Dried red chillies, Raisins, Salt, Jaggery Cuisine Indian Course Pickles Jams Chutneys Prep time 30-35 minutes Cook time 15-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of cooking Easy Others Vegetarian Ingredients 4 medium tomatoes, quartered 2 tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 2 bay leaves 6-8 dried red chillies 1 tablespoon raisins Salt to taste ½ cup chopped jaggery Method Heat oil in an earthen pot, add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add bay leaves and dried red chillies, mix and sauté for 30 seconds. Add tomatoes, raisins and salt, mix well, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes or till the tomatoes turn soft and pulpy. Add jaggery, mix, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes. Switch the heat off and allow the mixture to cool completely. Discard the bay leaves and dried red chillies.
