Tulsi Tea These days we get various flavoured tea made with different aromatics. And each flavour has its own charm. Here we have for you a variation of the regular masala chai enriched with the nutrients of Tulsi (Holy basil leaves)! By Sanjeev Kapoor 03 Sep 2024 in Recipes Beverages New Update Main ingredients Fresh holy basil leaves (tulsi), Tea leaves, Ginger, Black peppercorns, Cloves, Green cardamoms, Milk, Jaggery Cuisine Indian Course Beverage Prep time 5-10 minutes Cook time 10-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of cooking Easy Others Vegetarian Ingredients 15-20 fresh holy basil leaves (tulsi) 1 tablespoon tea leaves 1 inch ginger 5-6 black peppercorns 2 cloves 2 green cardamoms 3 cups milk ¼ cup chopped jaggery Biscuits to serve Method Put ginger in a mortar and coarsely pound with the pestle. Add black peppercorns, cloves, and green cardamoms and pound again to a coarse mixture. Heat 1 cup water in a deep pan, add the crushed mixture and mix well. Add tea leaves, mix and let it come to a boil. Continue to boil for 2-3 minutes. Add tulsi (basil leaves), mix well. Add milk and continue to boil for 3-4 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium and add jaggery and mix well. Boil till the jaggery melts. Switch the heat off and strain the tea into individual serving glasses.
