This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 08 Apr 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Ginger, jaggery Cuisine Punjabi Course Desserts Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Adrak ka Halwa 150 grams Ginger grated 1 tablespoon jaggery 1 cup Jaggery (gur) roughly chopped ½ cup Castor sugar (caster sugar) 1 teaspoon Green cardamom powder 3 tablespoon Ghee 8-10 Pistachios finely chopped 1 cup Whole wheat flour (atta) 15-16 Seedless dates finely chopped 1½ cup Scraped coconut freshly Method To make syrup, heat 5 cups water in a non-stick pan, add jaggery, castor sugar, dry ginger powder and green cardamom powder and mix well. Cook till the mixture thickens. Heat ghee in another non-stick pan,add ginger and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add pistachios and mix well. Add wheat flour and sauté till the flour is fragrant and completely cooked. Add dates and sauté further till the mixture becomes soft. Add syrup and cook, stirring continuously, till the mixture thickens. Add coconut, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the halwa into a serving bowl and serve immediately.
