Ingredients list for Andhra Chilli Chicken - SK Khazana

  • 750 grams Whole chicken cut into 2 breasts and 2 leg pieces on the bone
  • 10-12 Dried red chillies
  • 1 tablespo teaspoons Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 inches Ginger
  • 7-8 Garlic cloves
  • 10-15 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • for dusting Refined flour (maida)
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • to serve Onion rings
  • to serve Lemon slices

Method

  1. Make some slits on all the chicken pieces and put them in a large bowl. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice and salt and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Blend together ginger, garlic, curry leaves, dried red chillies, remaining lemon juice and sufficient water to a fine paste.
  3. Add this paste to the chicken along with yogurt and salt and mix well. Keep the bowl in the refrigerator to marinate for 2-3 hours.
  4. Dust the marinated chicken pieces with flour.
  5. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Place the chicken pieces in it and cook on high heat for 4-5 minutes. Flip, cover and cook till fully done.
  6. Serve hot with onion rings and lemon slices.
