Ingredients list for Arbi Tikki

  • 12-14 Colocassia (arbi) boiled and peeled
  • 1 Medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • a few Fresh coriander sprigs
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 2-3 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • for shallow frying Oil
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Mash colocasia in a bowl. Add onion, ginger, green chillies, coriander sprigs, salt, cumin powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala, carom seeds and cornflour and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into tikkis.
  3. Heat some oil on a non-stick tawa. Place tikkis on it and shallow-fry till golden brown from both the sides.
  4. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
