Chilli Idli Leftover steamed idlis can be turned into a delicious dish cooked in the Indo -Chinese style with assorted capsicums. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 18 Oct 2018 in Recipes Veg New Update Chilli Idli Main Ingredients Idlis, Green chillies Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 10-15 idlis, quartered 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped 2 tablespoons cornflour 1/2 tablespoon oil +to deep fry 1 tablespoon chopped garlic 1/2 tablespoon chopped ginger 1 small onion, quartered and layers separated 1 small red capsicum, cut into squares 1 small yellow capsicum, cut into squares 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon red chilli sauce 3/4 cup vegetable stock Salt to taste Crushed black peppercorns to taste 1 tablespoon cornflour slurry Spring onion greens diagonally sliced for garnish Method Heat sufficient oil in kadai. Take idli pieces in a bowl, add cornflour and mix well. Deep-fry the idli pieces till lightly brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic, ginger and green chillies and sauté till fragrant. Add onions, red and yellow capsicums, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add soy sauce and chilli sauce and mix well. Add stock, mix and bring to a boil. Add salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well. Add cornflour slurry and mix well. Add fried idli pieces, mix well and cook for a minute.
