Italian cuisine has developed through centuries of social and political changes, with roots stretching to antiquity.  Italian cuisine is simple and a number of dishes having only four to eight ingredients.  They rely mostly on the quality of ingredients rather than elaborate preparation.
Noteworthy changes in Italian cuisine happened with the discovery of the New World and the introduction of potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers and maize, which are now an integral part of this cuisine.  Italian cuisine is known for its regional diversity each with a distinct taste.  This cuisine today is probably one of the most popular in the world.

Ingredients for Corn Panzza Recipe

  • Whole wheat pizza breads 4

  • Mozzarella Cheese grated 2 cups

  • Olive oil 2 tablespoons

  • Tomato sauce

  • Tomatoes pureed 2 medium

  • Olive oil 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic chopped 2 cloves

  • Onion chopped 1 small

  • Tomato ketchup 4 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar 1/2 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed 6-8

  • Oregano 1 teaspoon

  • Topping

  • American corn kernels blanched 1 1/2 cups

  • Black peppercorns crushed 4-5


Step 1

For the sauce, heat the oil in a non-stick pan, add the garlic and sauté for half a minute. Add the onion and sauté till translucent. Add the tomato puree and mix. Cook till thick. Add the tomato ketchup and cook for another six to eight minutes.

Step 2

Add the salt, sugar, crushed peppercorns and oregano and mix well. Set aside to cool. Heat half tablespoon olive oil in a non-stick pan and place a pizza base on it. Spread a quarter of the tomato sauce evenly over it. Sprinkle a quarter of the American corn kernels over the sauce.

Step 3

Sprinkle the salt and crushed peppercorns. Top up with a quarter of the grated cheese. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on very low heat for ten minutes or till the base has browned evenly and the cheese has melted. Make the remaining pizzas similarly. Cut the pizzas into wedges and serve hot immediately.
