By Sanjeev Kapoor 07 Nov 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Chickpeas (kabuli chana), Oats Cuisine Lebanese Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Falafel With Oats 1/2 cup Chickpeas (kabuli chana) soaked and boiled 1 cup Oats 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds roasted 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds roasted 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder to taste Salt 2-3 Black peppercorns roasted 1 Green chilli 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 cloves Garlic 1 teaspoon Lemon juice 2 tablespoons Bread crumbs 2 teaspoons Olive oil to deep fry Oil Method Grind together chickpeas, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, salt, peppercorns, green chilli, coriander leaves, garlic and lemon juice into a coarse paste. Transfer the mixture into a bowl and add breadcrumbs, oats, olive oil and enough water to make a stiff dough. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into one-inch ovals.Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry the falafels, a few at a time, on medium heat till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
