Ingredients list for Fried Cauliflower

  • 1 medium Cauliflower separated into florets
  • ¾ cup Gram flour (besan)
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Rice flour
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin powder roated
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin seeds roasted
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped, browned
  • to taste Salt
  • to sprinkle Chaat masala

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
  2. Take gram flour in a bowl. Add some water and whisk. Add rice flour and whisk well to make a semi-thick or batter with coating consistency. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, browned garlic and salt and whisk well.
  3. Coat each cauliflower floret with this batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  4. Sprinkle some chaat masala on top and serve immediately.
