Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Hare Pyaaz ki Sabzi - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Spring onion with greens 4-6

  • OIl 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Gram flour (Besan) 1 cup

  • Rotis to serve

Method

Step 1

Chop spring onions and the greens.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida and the spring onions, mix and saute for 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Add salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well.

Step 4

Add 1 cup water and mix and let the mixture come to a boil. Add gram flour and mix well. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 minutes. Take the pan off the heat.

Step 5

Serve hot with rotis.
