Ingredients list for Honeyed Chicken Wings
- 16-20 Chicken Wings
- 4 tablespoons Honey
- 1/2 cup Cornflour/ corn starch
- 2 cloves Garlic crushed
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 2 tablespoons Light soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons Red chilli flakes
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (til) toasted
Method
- Wash and pat dry the chicken wings. Mix two tablespoons of cornflour in one cup of water and reserve the rest for dusting the chicken wings.
- Heat sufficient oil in a wok or a pan, dust the chicken wings with the remaining cornflour and deep-fry turning frequently, for about four to five minutes.
- Drain on absorbent paper. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok or a pan, add the garlic and stir-fry for half a minute.
- Immediately add the light soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chilli flakes and salt.
- Add the fried chicken wings and stir in the cornflour mixture. Cook on medium to high heat for a minute, stirring continuously.
- Lower the heat and stir in the lemon juice and honey, mix well and cook further on medium heat for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and serve hot.
