Ingredients list for Imli Tilwale Chawal - SK Khazana

  • 3 cups Cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoons Tamarind pulp
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • a pinch Asafoetida

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add mustard seeds, split Bengal gram, , split black gram, and saute till the colour of the grams change.
  2. Add asafoetida, curry leaves, broken dried red chillies and green chilli and mix well.
  3. Add tamarind pulp and 2-3 tbsps water and mix well. Add salt, turmeric powder, roasted peanuts, sesame seeds and rice and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with sesame seeds and a coriander sprig and serve hot.
