Ingredients list for Instant Rava Dhokla

  • 1 1/2 cups Semolina (rawa/suji)
  • 1/4 cup Green capsicum chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Corn kernels
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-green chilli paste
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Fruit salt
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sesame seeds (til)
  • a pinch Asafoetida

Method

  1. In a bowl mix together, semolina, green capsicum, sweet corn, ginger chilli paste, butter, salt and 2 tablespoons water. Mix well.
  2. Heat sufficient water in a steamer and just before steaming the batter add fruit salt and two tablespoons water. Mix well.
  3. Pour a ladleful of the batter in a greased thali and steam for ten to fifteen minutes or till done.Heat the remaining oil in a non stick pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds and asafetida.
  4. Allow the seeds to splutter and pour over the dhoklas.Cut the dhoklas in diagonal pieces and serve hot.
