Ingredients for Jhilmil ki Kheer Recipe

  • Sago soaked for 3-4 hours 1/4 cup

  • Basmati soaked for 1 hour 1 cup

  • Milk 1 litre

  • Ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Almonds roughly chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Cashewnuts roughly chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Green cardamom powder a pinch

  • Few strands of saffron


Step 1

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add almonds and cashewnuts and sauté till light golden.

Step 2

Drain and add basmati rice and milk and cook for 12-15 minutes or till the mixture thickens.

Step 3

Add sugar, green cardamom powder, saffron and mix well. Add sago, mix and cook further for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Transfer into small serving bowls and serve hot or chilled as desired.
