Ingredients list for Jhilmil ki Kheer

  • 1/4 cup Sago soaked for 3-4 hours
  • 1 cup Basmati soaked for 1 hour
  • 1 litre Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon Almonds roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cashewnuts roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • a pinch Green cardamom powder
  • Few strands of saffron

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add almonds and cashewnuts and sauté till light golden.
  2. Drain and add basmati rice and milk and cook for 12-15 minutes or till the mixture thickens.
  3. Add sugar, green cardamom powder, saffron and mix well. Add sago, mix and cook further for 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer into small serving bowls and serve hot or chilled as desired.
