Ingredients list for Leftover Rice Tikki - SK Khazana

  • 1 cup Cooked rice
  • 1 tablespo for shallow frying Oil
  • 1 Green chilli chopped
  • 1 Medium onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup Carrot grated
  • 3-4 French beans chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Green peas boiled and mashed
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Semolina
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, add green chilli and onion, mix and sauté till onion turns translucent.
  2. Add carrot, French beans, green peas and salt, mix well and sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Take rice in a bowl, add the vegetable mixture, semolina, salt, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well. Divide mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into medium sized tikkis.
  4. Heat a little oil in a non-stick tawa, place the tikkis on it and shallow-fry, turning sides, on medium heat till golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
