Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Methi Paneer Bhurjee Recipe

  • Paneer 100 grams

  • Fenugreek Leaves 1 bunch

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon

  • Dried red chillies broken 3-4

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Green chillies broken 2-3

  • Onions finely chopped 2

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Kasoori methi powder 1 tablespoon

  • Milk 1/4 cup

  • Papad roasted and crushed 1

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a handi. Add asafoetida, dried red chillies and sauté. Add cumin seeds, ginger, garlic and mix.

Step 2

Add green chillies, onions and sauté till lightly coloured. Add methi leaves and sauté on low heat. Crumble paneer.

Step 3

Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to the pan. Add paneer and mix well. Add kasoori methi, milk and mix well.

Step 4

Transfer methi paneer bhurjee into a serving bowl. Roast a papad and crush it on methi paneer bhurjee and serve hot.
