Ingredients 

  • 1 1/2 cups yogurt
  • 1 medium onion, peeled
  • 1/2 medium cucumber, peeled
  • 1/2 medium tomato
  • 8-10 fresh coriander sprigs
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  •  Black salt (kala namak) to taste

Method

  1. Finely chop onion, cucumber, tomato and sprigs of coriander leaves.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and dry toast till fragrant and lightly browned. Transfer into a mortar and pound to a coarse powder with the pestle.
  3. Take yogurt in a bowl and whisk it well. Add onion, cucumber, tomato, coriander leaves, ½ tsp roasted cumin powder and black salt and mix well.
  4. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with some roasted cumin powder and serve.
